Short Courses

The Faculty of Health, Sport and Science at the University of Glamorgan offers a wide range of flexible, modular short courses.
All short courses are delivered in a relaxed, supportive environment and have been designed with individuals in mind. Whether you want an education taster or would like to extend your professional knowledge, we have a portfolio of short courses for you to choose from.
Typically, short courses are worth between 5–40 credits and are usually delivered over a period of twenty weeks with a minimum of 50 hours of theory contact time however this may vary with each course.

Fundamentals of Community Practice
This level 6 module is designed for all nurses working either fully, or partially in primary community settings, including specialist nurses without a degree.
Maternal Mental Health Issues Module
Designed for those interested in extending their knowledge of mental health issues in expectant mothers, following childbirth and the postnatal period.

The Sky as a Cultural Resource
This exciting 20 week course has been developed to celebrate International Year of Astronomy enabling students to engage further with the sky.
Travel Health and Well Being for General Practice
This short course will provide you with the knowledge and skills set to make you a competent practitioner to deliver Travel Health within the General Practice setting.
The Care and Management of Patients with Psoriasis and Eczema (via Distance Learning)
The module is designed to provide healthcare professionals with the knowledge and skills to work comprehensively and effectively with patients suffering from psoriasis and eczema.
The Care and Management of Patients with Psoriasis Treated with Biological Therapies (via Distance Learning)
The module is designed to provide healthcare professionals with the knowledge and skills to work comprehensively and effectively with patients who are receiving biological therapies.
Minimum Standards for Immunisation
This two day 10 credit course at diploma level will provide you with the knowledge and skills for immunisation set by the Department of Health.
