Chiropractor with patient

Have you considered a career in chiropractic? The chiropractic profession focuses on diagnosis, treatment and prevention of mechanical disorders of the musculoskeletal system and the effects of these disorders on the functions of the nervous system and general health.

The chiropractic profession enjoys independent practising status in the UK. It has experienced many exciting developments with the passage of government legislation, the Chiropractors Act 1994, and the naming of the General Chiropractic Council (GCC) in 1997.

In light of increasing demands for chiropractic services, the University of Glamorgan became the first university in the UK to offer an integrated undergraduate degree programme accredited by the GCC.

The degree programme is also accredited by the European Council on Chiropractic Education (ECCE), meaning that it meets exacting international chiropractic educational standards, so University of Glamorgan chiropractic graduates have access to practise in all countries throughout the world. Extended grants and subsidies are also available to chiropractic students on these programmes.

At the University of Glamorgan we look forward to helping students achieve the qualifications needed to join this dynamic profession. For more information about Chiropractic courses available to study within the Welsh Institute of Chiropractic visit our Chiropractic Awards web page.
