Tramsheds Building

The Tramsheds building was officially opened by the Rt.Hon Rodhri Morgan, AM, First Minister of Welsh Assembly Government on the 24th January 2003.

The Glamorgan Clinical Simulation Centre is housed inside the newly refurbished Tramsheds building and was officially opened by Dr. Brian Gibbons AM, Minister for Health & Social Services, Welsh Assembly Government on the 10th May 2006.

Based in the Faculty of Health Sport and Science at the University of Glamorgan, the Glamorgan Clinical Simulation Centre is a state-of-the-art education facility that can provide a number of teaching and learning benefits for multidisciplinary healthcare professionals.

While patient contact and good technical and communication skills are essential for all healthcare professionals, modern simulation technology can now give tomorrow’s health workers a realistic head-start in the industry.

Dental Surgery

The Centre offers a unique environment that replicates a wide range of realistic clinical settings (for example a dental surgery), and provides an excellent opportunity to take textbook theory and convert it into practical experience of a working healthcare environment.

The realistic clinical facilities are equipped with the latest technology and equipment and have been created to emulate current NHS specifications, giving students a valuable insight into working in an authentic hospital setting.
