Teachers come down to Google Earth at Glamorgan Training Workshop

AS and A-level Geography teachers from schools and colleges Teachers taking part in the Google Earth to GIS workshop at Glamorgan across Wales recently attended a GIS to Google Earth training workshop at the University of Glamorgan’s Glyntaff campus. The event was organised by the Schools and Colleges Liaison Team and the Faculty of Health, Sport and Science.

Two Institutes – One Family – A Maltese Connection

Institute of Family Therapy Malta invited Billy Hardy and Kieran Vivian-Byrne from The Family Institute, University of Glamorgan for a three day visit to share ideas. The link was made with them during The European Family Therapy Associations Training conference in Brussels in October 2011 and from the outset promised to be a fruitful collaboration.

As part of the Welsh Government’s initiative to fund 500 extra Police Community Support Officers (PCSO’s) in Wales, the division of Police Sciences at the University of Glamorgan is delivering a 30 credit module to prepare the newly recruited South Wales Police PCSO’s for duty.

International Police Training Held at Glamorgan

The Police Staff College division of the National Police Improvement Agency has organised training for international police officers for many years, but for the first time it held a Hydra “immersive simulation” exercise at a university as part of such training.

MSc Analytical and Forensic Science students complete prestigious PRINCE2 course

Students on the MSc Analytical and Forensic Science award have recently completed the prestigious PRINCE2 foundation course in project management, and received their certificates at a recent ceremony. All MSc Analytical and Forensic Science students complete the Prince2 course as part of their degree.

Glamorgan Hosts Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist Exam

The University of Glamorgan has recently hosted a Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist exam. The CSCS qualification is a postgraduate certification issued by the National Strength and Conditioning Association (NSCA) in the USA. The NSCA is the largest Strength and Conditioning Association in the world with members in over 56 countries.
