We’ve been teaching science for over eight decades. Building on this experience, we pride ourselves on our dynamic and relevant approach to teaching, with the most up-to-date equipment and techniques. You can choose to study a traditional science subject, such as a biology or chemistry degree, or try one of our innovative courses like Observational Astronomy.

With nutrition and exercise rarely out of the media and governmental debates these days, sport and sports science is a rapidly-growing area of study. We have the largest and most effective research group of exercise physiologists in Wales, and staff use their up-to-date knowledge and expertise to ensure that course modules reflect trends in the industry.

Our geography and environmental science students benefit from a wide range of experiences to understand our complex world and how it can be managed. Glamorgan is the perfect place if you are interested in this subject, plus we are the only university in the country where students can visit Mount Etna and Stromboli (the world’s most active volcano) as part of their studies.

Research in the Faculty is conducted at national and international levels, with much of our activity considered ‘world class’ during the Research Assessment Exercise 2008, with particular success in environmental research, and nursing and midwifery. Students throughout the Faculty benefit from being taught by top-rated professors and researchers who are committed to fostering academic debate and delivering a first-class learning experience.
